Article 43: New and Improved; a glimpse into what we’ve done lately
Greetings from the Canyon! We’ve briefly mentioned in these blogs and social media posts the improvements we’ve made to the lodge and property over the last couple of seasons. Keep reading to find out more!
Kitchen and Dining Room
Becky worked some incredible magic in the tiny, corner kitchen our first three seasons. We decided last fall that the kitchen and dining room had to be expanded to accommodate our growth. So, we more than doubled the kitchen size and pushed the kitchen into the old living room. Becky designed and oversaw the whole process and the results are striking. We hope you enjoy the extra room and ability to prepare meals that may even be better than before. The living room has been replaced with comfy seating and entertainment in another area. More on that next.
Fly Shop
Last year, we decided we needed more room for a lot of things. This included flies, rods, waders, fly tying and such. We brought in a prefab shed and finished the interior ourselves. The evolution of this building has included a big screen tv, furniture and a mini split for temperature control. The result has been a do it all room for everyday use.
We use it for the fly shop that we choose flies, rods, and tackle in the mornings. The locker room for guests to store their own fishing equipment and put on waders and boots in the morning. Our fly tying room for all seasons. The living room/gathering area for guests to enjoy after dinner in the evenings. They watch the ball game on the big screen or share stories while they enjoy cocktails. This single building has filled many gaps.
The Cabins
We decided to expand capacity this last off season. We acquired 2 small cabins and set them up next to the lodge. They are all log construction and set up similar to our in-lodge guest rooms. Each has 2 full size beds and a bathroom. You can watch tv in the room or spend the evening watching the sun go down on the front porch.
Parking and a little landscaping
All these improvements go along with the fantastic food, rooms, hospitality, fishing and guides you’ve come to expect. We have great guests and want to keep enhancing your experience to match.
Single anglers don’t forget about our single angler program to save money. We currently have single anglers looking to match weeks.
